The Passion that Drives Me
I blog about my passion, my hobbies, my travels, the people that I meet and the things that drives me in life to be the person I am today. I strongly believe that if you have passion for the things that you do, success will automatically follow behind.

Wood & Steel Kota Damansara
January 15th 2017: Wood & Steel Kota Damansara
Working? Relaxing with friends, family or love ones? Loner? Especially on Sundays..
Head down to Wood & Steel, Kota Damansara. The ideal simple and cosy place for you.
Photo 1: The cafe has simple decoration with historical furnitures. Ideal place for doing work and relaxing
Photo 2: The Latte that I had ordered yesterday. It was priced at RM10.
Being a barista myself, this cafe offers good coffee. The latte art was also beautiful. Overall, I would give this coffee at 8/10.
Photo 3: Chocolate brownie top with a vanilla ice cream dessert. The brownie is priced RM13 and top up ice cream would be RM3.
Since is a Sunday, I would usually spend my evenings having a good dessert. To me, this is the ideal dessert to end the weekend. The brownie is superb, because after heating, the chocolate melts in your mouth.
Subsequently, when topped up with ice cream just makes the dessert heavenly. The moment you slide the tiny fork from the top of the ice cream, through the warm brownie until the bottom and place it in your mouth. The chocolate and the ice cream melts just perfectly in your pallet.
This dessert I would give it a 10/10, because I am chocolate lover :)
I also had ordered other drinks for my family as well. I'm lucky to have a family that likes to visit cafes and test out their products.
Photo 4: The ice drinks Geisha and Marley both priced at RM10
Although it doesn't have a live band similar to the place that I always visit, this is a place that I would definitely visit again because of its quiet ambiance.
For a Sunday night out, this is a place I would definitely recommend people to go.

Hiking up Bukit Tabur Far East
January 8th 2017: Hiking up Bukit Tabur Far East
My hiking partner and myself decide to hike the Bukit Tabur Far east for the first time. We departed from her home at 7am in the morning and reached about 7.45am.
We begun our ascend at 8am. Since it was our first time, we did not know the route up, thus we decide to follow other hikers who were already making their way up. Originally there was a route leading up to the top but it had been closed for some reason.
We decide to take an alternate route that led through a construction site. The road was full of large rocks and sand. Be careful not to trip on any stones. After passing the construction site, the start of journey begins. It will take you through a jungle trail for about 15mins until you reaching the end of trail.
At the end of the jungle trail, you will see opening. Just follow the path and it will lead you to a clearing with trees along the side just as the photo below. There was a hut located just in the middle of the trail of the clearing and there was a friendly uncle staying there. We asked if we were on the right path to the top and he said yes in Bahasa Malaysia. Stay on the clearing route, and you will reach another opening to a jungle trail again.
Photo 1: The clearing upon exiting the 15min jungle hike. The view of the city from this clearing was amazing.
Go through the jungle opening and continue following the trail up. This trail takes slightly longer because of the slightly steeper incline. It took us about 35min to reach just the end of the route. Be careful on this trail, you might need to do a bit of climbing to reach certain areas. If you need rest, just stop and have a drink of water.
This would be the final part to the trail where you will reach a sign saying turn left to Tabur Far East or turn right to Tabur extreme.
Since my hiking partner and myself decide to try Tabur Far East, we took the left turn. Continue to follow the trail until you reach to the end of the trail where you will need to start actual climbing. First you will need to climb horizontally with your right hand on a rope that is already attached, and your left to grip and pull yourself up the rocks. Your legs will be looking for places to secure yourself properly. The climb will be about 5 to 7mins.
After completing the horizontal climb, now come the vertical climb before you reach the top of your journey. This horizontal climb also has a rope already attached and you have to use your right to hold the rope and your left to grip and pull yourself up the rocks. According to the experience hikers there, your right hand must never let go of the rope. This horizontal climb will take about 7 to 8 mins.
At the end of both climbs you will see one of the most amazing view from Bukit Tabur, which is in the photo below.
Photo 2: Your journey to Tabur Far East is almost complete, even so the view from the top is simply magnificent
Now you need to take a short walk until the end of your journey. Congratulations! Your journey through Tabur Far East is now complete. Take your break while enjoying the spectacular view.

Photo 5: Bukit Tabur Far East 357meters above sea level. You have done it!
When you want to go down, the route up is also the route down. Remember your decent down Bukit Tabur Far East is easier. Just be careful around the horizontal and vertical climbing areas because this time your going downwards. Always remember to keep your right hand on the rope at all times. Try to find gaps in the rocks to secure your feet and you should be fine.
We hiked up at 8am and we returned down to our car at 10am. It took us almost 2 hours to complete the entire journey. It was really an amazing experience. If your think your scared of heights, there is quote along the way to the top " FEAR CAN ONLY MAKE YOU BRAVER".
My hiking partner and I welcome all new hikers whether you are experienced or newbies. Feel free to join us anytime. You can always reach me at my WeChat: joeyliew91
I will be back to blog again on our next adventure. Bye :)
